PALS

And adult or small group of adults provides a mentoring experience for a child or small group of children who are waiting for a Traditional One-To-One match, and it keeps our waiting list kids active in the program.

The primary goal of the PALS program is to provide opportunities for children on the waiting list to have exposure to adult role models through a mentoring experience.  The PALS program also exposes more volunteers and potential Bigs to the mentoring experience.

Volunteers in the PALS program are required to go through the same intake process as volunteers in the Traditional program.  Please see the Become a Big web page for more information.

Communication/Supervision will be coordinated by a professional staff member, who will make arrangements  with the parents and volunteers before outings.  The professional staff member will monitor and evaluate the PALS activity or outing.

The PALS program serves children between the ages of six to sixteen from single parent households, children placed in foster care or children living with grandparents.  Presently, we have over 30 children on the waiting list.

If you are interested in this program please check out our Become a Big page or if you are interested in registering a child please check out Become a Little.
